So in this post I just wanted to share a Google Data Studio report template that lets you look at the connections between countries and search queries.

What can I do with this Search Console report?

So this report is set up to let you examine the top search queries by country. As well as seeing the top countries for various search queries.

So for example, below I’ve selected Canada using the table on the left. The table on the right now only shows queries relevant to Canada.

Using the report to see what countries rank highly for different keywords, I’ve selected the search term ‘Google Data Studio’ on the table on the right and now I get a list of impressions, clicks and CTR for each country just for that search query.

Use Metric Sliders to filter out values

A new feature that I’ve added to this report template is Metric Sliders. These allow you to filter out values you don’t want to see.

For example, below I’m filtering using the metric slider. I am adjusting the Query table to only show queries which have at least one click and at least a 1% click-through-rate.

Another component of the report is a Google Map showing the number of Impressions and Clicks by Country.

The bubble size is the number of impressions and the colour is the number of clicks.

A Google Map in Data Studio is a great way to help you visualize geographic data.

You can also use the interactive map to focus in on a specific country and look at charts showing impressions, clicks, CTR and average position.
